Lightning CrossFit is committed to training all 10 general physical skills:
Cardiovascular Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Accuracy, Agility, and Balance.
Our overall level of fitness is only as strong as our weakest physical skill. Stamina is of little use if we can’t carry a heavy load or generate the power to move that heavy load quickly. Speed has no value if we don’t couple that with the accuracy required to control the movement.
You can expect high quality coaching on functional movements. A 400lb deadlift is impressive only if it is repeatable and without risk of injury. Scaling workouts to your ability, physical limitations, and equipment will keep injury rates down while supercharging your fitness. Our commitment to virtuosity will ensure that your time spent training maximizes your individual potential.
We will learn, practice, and train the major functional lifts. Squat, press, deadlift, clean and jerk, snatch are the foundational movements which we will add longer lines of motion to elicit an incredible work capacity. Including common gymnastics movements like pull-ups, dips, rope climb, sit-ups, and handstands supports core strength development better than any Swiss ball routine. Run, row, and bike hard and fast increases the aerobic capacity better than any LSD program.
